Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair

There are so many pretty ways to weave flowers in your hair as a bride. You don’t have to be a boho bride to carry off this look. In recent years there has been an explosion of this trend across the bridal beauty scene. Flowers are the perfect way to add that finishing touch to an elegant up do, add a bit of colour to flowing locks or drama and romance to some floaty waves.

Fresh flower crowns and flower combs have been really popular in my weddings this year. I have created some bold flower crowns for that added drama and festival feel. I love this voluptuous look; but if you want a more subtle look there are other ways to wear flowers on your wedding day.

If you are thinking of wearing flowers in your bridal hair but don’t want to go big, a more subtle way is to wear a hair comb of bridal flowers.

If you want to embellish your hair with flowers but your eyes are more drawn towards all that sparkles, then you may want to take a look at some crystal flower accessories that are available on the market.

I can’t see this fashion disappearing any time soon. They’re still popping up during my wedding consultations for next year’s brides as a cool and contemporary way to adorn your hair. I am also seeing brides opting for pretty flower heads dotted throughout the hair. They want to weave them in to up dos or perch one or two giant blooms at the side of some tumbling curls for a romantic and ethereal feel. I seriously can’t wait!

These flower combs have been so popular in my recent weddings. They are a simple, beautiful way to add colour and flowers to your hair. They are made to colour coordinate with your bridal flowers. These can work as a statement piece on their own or can sit above the wedding veil.

The above images show the different ways you can wear a flower crown. You can have a full floral crown to wear or the flowers can be focused and built up in the front section. These would both suit the bride who is more daring with her hair flowers. The middle image shows simple ivy crowns; I made these for the female guests of a summer wedding. They were so effective and added a fun element to the wedding day.

Sprigs of gypsophilia and orchid heads make for a beautiful display.

This look is another really popular look and is an easy way to wear flowers in your hair. If you don’t want to wear a full crown of flowers or a flower comb your florist can supply small wired stems for the hairdresser to pin into the hair.

So what do you think? Would you dare to wear flowers in your hair on your wedding day or special occasion? Would you wear a beautiful flower comb? Or is the full flower crown more your thing? A bold voluptuous design for the daring bride? Or would you prefer just a touch of flowers with a few sprigs added to your up do.
