Miskin Manor Wedding with Katy and Matt.

If you are having a Miskin Manor wedding then I have the most beautiful wedding flowers to share with you today. Katy and Matt were married on a beautiful, warm, sunny day in one of the most stunning wedding venues near Cardiff. Miskin Manor is a luxury wedding venue just 15 minutes from Cardiff, nestled between Llantrisant and Pontyclun. It is hidden away in the most beautiful gardens and Welsh countryside, just minutes off the M4.

Katy and Matt lived in Australia and planned most of the wedding by email. We first met over the Christmas holidays where Katy came to me with amazing ideas, she wanted to use lots of seasonal flowers, lots of texture, nothing too rigid or formal. These photos from Imagine That/Studio27 are just wonderful, as you will see. I absolutely loved this wedding; it was an absolute pleasure working with this gorgeous couple on their big day.

Now feast your eyes on this blog for some serious wedding inspiration!

Katy chose to have bright summer flowers for the bouquets, she was really trusting with the designs and was open to my suggestions. I focused on using lots of different types of flowers to add texture and interest. Eucalyptus and anigozanthos (kangaroo paw) were a nod to Katy’s Australian home. I also used the ‘wow’ flower: 'coral charm' peonies. Lots of roses: peach avalanche, caraluna, 'sweet sara' pink spray roses, 'pink wedding' and 'queen of africa' roses. A touch of pale pink godetia, bright blue delphinium, nigella and tanacetum. It was a beauty. The bridesmaids carried bouquets slightly smaller in size and simpler in design.

The ceremony room at Miskin was beautifully decorated with simple aisle decorations of small but perfectly formed posies tied to the chairs and yes, those incredible peonies are real. The registry table was enhanced with a long and low arrangement of bridal flowers; this was then transferred to the top table for the reception.

The reception tables were a mix and match of floral arrangements in different size jars and vases, all placed on a slate setting, a nod to their home country. The top table was decorated with the long and low from the ceremony with the bridal bouquets sat across the length of the table, the place settings here were made extra special with a perfect rose placed on the napkin. The vibrant blues of the delphinium in the arrangements contrast perfectly with the soft peach and pink coloured roses. I used a small potted rosemary as part of the display. These made a lovely memento for the guests to take home. Rosemary carries the meaning of remembrance, I love to use this in my wedding displays, This Miskin Manor wedding room is always such a wonderful space to dress, with the surrounding beautiful gardens this venue is hard to beat.
