Christmas table ideas
Decorating your Christmas table with care and attention is an easy way to get into the festive mood. It is something I do on Christmas Eve; my husband is in charge of prepping the dinner, I am in charge of the decorations. You don’t have to be quite as last minute as I am. This year I thought I would share a few of my Christmas table ideas to help fuel your imagination. They really don’t have to be complicated, there are endless ways to dress a table, whether you’re a minimalist or like to go all out.
Take a look at these Christmas table displays in a range of styles to add a little magic and cheer to your Christmas celebrations.
Before we start I need to let you know that none of these images are professional (I am sure you will be able to tell!). I made these table arrangements without the intention of sharing but this year I thought, why not! Done is better than perfect. So hope you enjoy my Christmas tables from years past. Let me know which of the ideas you prefer.

This was our table display for last year. I made a mixed foliage garland that sat the length of the table, I included some rose hips and thistles, I added some baubles and these cute paper Christmas tree cones that I saw on Kirsty Homemade Christmas one year, (message me if you want to know how to make them, so easy, the kids also made some). I also included candles in bottles with sprigs of greenery inside. Really pretty and still look good this year with the dried foliage.
It was just me, Craig and the children last year, so we made little tree place names (another Kirsty make) and each setting had a small bunch of Christmas foliage. Really pretty.

Christmas table ideas with cranberries and candles
Place setting with rosemary
For this Christmas table I used lots of cranberries and of course candles. This was so easy and really effective. I simply stuck the candles into the jar using fixing tape and poured in the cranberries. I then added a few red carnations and sprigs of holly across the table to finish the look.
For the name place cards I tried to remember how to do calligraphy, I learnt this many years ago, and added a sprig of rosemary. What do you think?

This year I used a bunch of eucalyptus. It was dry but as you can see it worked beautifully. I simply laid it across the table and popped a few stems in vases to add height. I used hurricane lanterns and filled them with white and silver baubles. I accessorized the table with some silver decorations I have and added a few white roses and sprigs of white limonium. The table sits under the skylight at this end of the kitchen so I hung some paper decorations from the ceiling.

Plants are an easy way to add some festive cheer to your Christmas table. I have had these beautiful pink Cyclamen for years and they looked particularly healthy this year, perfect to use for the table. I added some pine-cone baubles and of course some candles and a few decorations. I bought some pink roses and added some Christmas foliage for each place setting.

Pendant foliage ball

Hanging foliage ball and lots of candles
This Christmas table idea is not for the faint hearted but if you are looking for a show stopper then this is it. Although it looks complicated it is quite simple to make. I have created a pendant light from chicken wire in a rough ball shape and then I have added ALOT of foliage. Ivy, pistache, pine, asparagus fern, conifer, a little eucalyptus and some dried gypsophilia. I have kept the table decoration simple in contrast to this by filling it with lots of various candles and the paper tree cones I used in tables of Christmas past (see what I did there). Then each place setting is decorated with a small sprig of eucalyptus.
There you have it. A few Christmas table ideas to help you feel inspired. Just remember to have fun with it. Hopefully you can see that it’s those special little touches that make everything come together, whether that's the miniature tree decorations, fairy lights or candles. Which is your favourite? Are you going to give them a go? Get in touch, I would love to see your creations. Merry Christmas!
