Daffodil wedding flowers inspiration

Now, I am a Welsh girl, born and bred, so obviously I have a soft spot for a daffodil wedding. The beautiful Narcissi, commonly known as the Daffodil is such a wonderful flower; it immediately brings joy when it starts to break through the frozen ground in the Winter months, flowering all the way in to Spring. Daffodil wedding flowers are a wonderful thing to behold. But it’s not just me that feels this way about daffodils. It features in a famous poem by Wordsworth :

“When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”

The Author, is shown to be lonely, but when he thinks back to the Daffodils dancing, he is happy and content. See, told you so!

I was lucky enough to play a part in the most beautiful daffodil wedding. It was full of Daffodils and was perfect for the venue, Oxwich Bay.

When we first met, Helen had a clear idea of the flowers she wanted - Daffodils, and lots of them (also a little bit of Muscari). Fresh, colourful and beautifully scented; perfect for a late Winter/early Spring wedding. These photos from Jonathan Wood Photography are just wonderful, as you will see. Happy Wedding Day lovely people, it was an absolute pleasure working with you.

If you are considering Daffodil wedding flowers get ready for some serious wedding inspiration!

Daffodil wedding flowers bridal bouquets

Helen chose compact bouquets of narcissi for the bridal party. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in a cornflower blue, the bright colour of the bouquets complimented the dresses beautifully. I used different varieties of narcissi to add texture and interest to the bouquets. I used ‘bridal crown' and 'tros martinette geel' narcissi, Dick Wilden, Johan Strauss, Martinette Feel and White Churchill. Helen had extra blue muscari, a little spring greens and some stems of forsythia in her bouquet. The bridesmaids carried bouquets slightly smaller in size. The flowers smelt amazing. It truly was an inspirational daffodil wedding.

Daffodil wedding flowers ceremony

The ceremony room chairs were adorned with a simple posy of narcissi. The registrar table was decorated with a bountiful display of spring blooms, mixed narcissi, muscari, bupleurum and forsythia. This was then moved to sit on the top table at the reception. This is a great way to save money, stretch your wedding budget and get the most out of your flowers.

Buttonholes of daffodil wedding flowers

The buttonholes were simple, wired daffodils and greenery. What else would they be for a daffodil wedding? The groom wore a fancier buttonhole of yellow spray roses and narcissi heads.
