Spring is finally here. Spring means that plants and trees that have been dormant for winter wake up, as well as the birth of new life in the animal world. The days are getting are longer, the nights are getting lighter, the sun is shining (fingers crossed). Then on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox Easter is here. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting out, these Easter floral craft ideas will add a touch of whimsy and elegance to your holiday celebration.

If you want to make Easter a special occasion but are not sure where to start? Fear not. I am here to hold your hand and guide you through my favourite Easter decoration ideas and a successful Easter. Well from a decoration point of view, I can’t help you with the dinner.

Easter Twig

Decorated twig for Easter decoration ideas.

Create an Easter egg tree by hanging blown-out eggs from branches or twigs. This is the perfect centrepiece for the dinner table. Pop a jar inside a larger vase. Put moss or anything you want; could be mini eggs, marshmallows etc in the space between the two. Gather some twigs and decorate with eggs. Here I have used some little ones I picked up years ago. I have added a few blown eggs I have painted with my children. Alternatively you can fill the eggs with water and small flowers like forget-me-nots, baby's breath, or miniature roses. It really couldn’t be easier. The perfect Easter decoration idea to start the blog.

Here’s a cute idea to make your table look really festive. Hollow out eggs and use them as mini vases for single stems of flowers. It couldn’t be easier. Keep your used egg shells, wash them out. Add a little water and use string to fashion a nest, this stops them from toppling over. Pop in a few flower heads and voila! You have mini egg shell vases.

Decoupage eggs

You need to do some advanced preparation for this one. Pick some flowers and press for the decoration. Leave them pressing for a few days.

The yolk needs to removed from the egg for these (if you want to keep them; of course you could do this on boiled eggs but they won’t last). Make a hole with a nail in the top and bottom of the egg, the bottom hole needs to be bigger. Then blow through the top hole, with some effort and some hefty blowing the yolk will fall out.

When ready coat the egg with PVA glue. Pop on the flower and coat with PVA to seal it. Sit back and enjoy your handiwork. These make beautiful table settings.

Now bear with me here. These little moss eggs might not photograph well but they make super cute Easter decoration ideas. I used some scrunched up paper to make a base and then added the moss, literally winding binding wire around to keep in place. You could use string instead and make a decorative feature of it.

Easter bunny place names

These are really effective and super quick to make. You will need some wire, or you could use garden twine? I wrapped the wire around a jar, twisting inside and out, do not cut the wire. Make the ear shapes and then cut the wire. Add the flowers for the crown with a little wire. Here I used dried Gypsophilia. You could use anything with a little head, you could even use moss - you know I like a little moss! I then added a little name tag to use these as place settings. I have a reel of this make you can see here.

Easter decoration ideas, all together now

Here is the final floral centrepiece full of all my Easter decoration ideas, a stunning floral centrepiece for your Easter table. You can see the bits I have created as well as a mix of spring flowers such as daffodils, hyacinths, and forget me nots. Painted eggs, moss and feathers for an extra festive touch. Hope you like it.
