Margam Orangery wedding, South Wales, with Chloe and David
I have the most beautiful Margam Orangery wedding flowers to share with you today. Chloe and David were married on a beautiful, warm, May day, in one of the most stunning wedding venues in South Wales. Margam Orangery is a luxury wedding venue and a venue dear to my heart, after all it is where I was married many moons ago. The Orangery is long and narrow with a series of twenty seven tall windows to let in the light, superb for all weathers and seasons; the perfect backdrop for some stunning wedding pictures. It really is an ideal venue for a beautiful wedding. Read on and you will see why.
I love it when clients put their trust in my floral vision, by giving me free reign on your wedding flowers and this is what Chloe and David did. They knew how they wanted their day to look, a classical white wedding but with a relaxed vibe, perfectly suited to the wonderful wedding venue.
I promise, you will be blown away by these beautiful photos from Luke Hassall Photography. They are just wonderful, as you will see. It was my first time meeting Luke but I truly hope we work together again.
I absolutely loved this Margam Orangery wedding; it was an absolute pleasure working with this gorgeous couple on their big day.
Now feast your eyes on this blog for some serious wedding inspiration!
Beautiful bridal bouquets at Margam Orangery
Chloe wanted classical, wedding flowers but natural looking with lots of texture and greenery. Nothing too formal. If you know anything about my natural style I tend to always use a lot of texture so I was happy to create this look.
I used ‘white naomi’ and ‘avalanche’ roses, ammi visigna for that whispy ethereal touch, the gorgeous astrantia, a little gypsophilia to match the table centrepieces and some gorgeous peonies, the ‘Jan Van Leeuwen’ variety with the amazing pollen centre. A finishing touch of little eucalyptus and olive foliage completed the look.
The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.
Margam Orangery wedding ceremony flowers
The ceremony room at Margam Orangery is such a wonderful room to decorate. It has that ability of looking equally as beautiful with large, lavish displays as it does with more subtle decorations. For this beautiful wedding the aisle chairs were decorated with posies of gypsophilia and a glass bottle with a sprig of eucalyptus which matched the sprig in the chair sash.
The vows were said in front of my copper arch decorated with a large corner section of overflowing greenery and classical white flowers - roses, gypsophilia, carnations. This made perfect backdrop for the wedding vows. The arrangement was made using chicken wire and tubed flowers, absolutely no floral foam was used in this wedding. If you have read some of my past blogs you will know I try to not use floral foam whenever possible, if you would like to learn more about this movement, you can read my blog here.
Reception wedding flowers at Margam Orangery
Just look at how beautiful this room is. The reception tables were decorated quite simply. Chloe and David saved lots of bottles in different hues and heights and I set them up with sprigs of greenery and flowers. Although simple in design this display is really effective, although time consuming to set up!
The top table flowers were arranged in the same way with bottles lined up down the length of the table. The flower arch from the ceremony was moved to sit behind the bride and groom during the wedding speeches and made a beautiful backdrop. This is a great way to make the most of your wedding flowers.
This Margam Orangery wedding was such a joy to work on. The venue is always such a wonderful space to dress, with the stunning windows and beautiful grounds it really is hard to beat.
This is what Chloe had to say about her wonderful Margam Orangery wedding day.
What do you think? How beautiful is this Margam Orangery wedding. Would you choose a classical wedding flower theme for your wedding like the wonderful Chloe and David? It was such fun being a part of this wedding.
Thank you for the beautiful photos from Luke Hassall I found it hard to choose which ones to use, that’s why there are so many.
