Outdoor South Wales wedding flowers at Llechwen Hall
Some weddings you just vibe with. You speak to the couple, discuss their ideas and you just click. You understand exactly what they want and they trust you to deliver. I was lucky enough to play a part in a wedding like this. It was a wonderful outside wedding, full of the most beautiful coral and peach wedding flowers with the cutest styling.
Megan and Simon were married on a very hot June day; an outdoor South Wales wedding ceremony in the stunning grounds of Llechwen Hall. When it comes to exchanging vows and embarking on a journey of love, what could be more enchanting than the magnificent panoramic views of the Welsh valleys? Imagine saying "I do" under the open sky, surrounded by lush greenery, with the sweet serenade of birdsong as your soundtrack. At Llechwen Hall, nestled in the heart of the Welsh countryside, this dream becomes a breath taking reality. Read on to see more of these outdoor South Wales wedding flowers, the epitome of romance and charm.
Captivating Setting
Llechwen Hall is a haven of tranquillity, set amidst rolling hills and verdant landscapes, providing the perfect canvas for your wedding ceremony. Megan had the most amazing ideas for her outdoor South Wales wedding flowers that would compliment the beautiful surroundings. Natural looking, colourful flowers, full of seasonal blooms. Lots of coral and peach colours highlighted with touches of blue.
These photos from Timea at Timea Danci Photography are just wonderful, as you will see. The colours, the atmosphere and joy of the day are beautifully captured.
Peach and blue bridal bouquet
Megan wasn’t sure exactly wanted she wanted for her bridal bouquet. There was a lot of discussion regarding the shape of the bouquet and the colours; peach but not orange, coral but not too pink, some blue accents but not too bright. The final result was perfect for her summer wedding day. As always I used a large variety of flowers, perfect for this look. There were coral charm peonies, Kahala, Azore and Bombastic roses, salmon dahlias, pale blue delphinium, tanacetum daisies, a little achillea, some phacelia bees friend, that ethereal fine white ammi majus and some fluffy pampus. It was perfect for Megan and really suited her dreamy wedding dress.
Her bridesmaids wore different colour and style dresses in beautiful jewelled green tones. They all carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquets with tied the whole look together.
Elements of the bridal bouquet were used for the buttonholes. They comprised of a bombastic rose, wired delphinium head and a little pampus. They complimented the bridal flowers
Now, I know there are a lot of photos of the bride and bridesmaids to follow but it was impossible to choose just a few. You will see what I mean!
Outdoor South Wales wedding flowers at Llechwen Hall.
Imagine walking down the aisle, with your loved ones gathered under the vast expanse of the sky, a sense of magic and romance. The gardens of Llechwen Hall are the ideal place to have an outdoor wedding ceremony.
A beautiful decorated hexagonal arch created the backdrop for Megan and Simon’s wedding vows. As always I created this without the use of floral foam, I made moss ‘sausages’ for the water source. I used flowers that I knew would last in the baking outdoor sun and popped the more delicate, thirsty blooms in water vials.
The aisle was lined with these beautiful lanterns supplied by the wonderful Claire at Oh So Curious , these sat alongside jars of delicious bridal flowers.
The registrar table sat to the left of the arch on which I placed a natural looking long and low display and a few stems of flowers in added vintage jars (again supplied by Oh So Curious)
As you can see, the ceremony area was truly stunning and bursting with flowers. Exchanging vows amidst the beauty of nature, underneath this stunning floral arch, against the backdrop of panoramic views, was just magical.
Reception flowers at Llechwen Hall
A lot of aspects and suppliers worked together to create this beautiful look for the wedding reception. From the napkins, placemats, stationery, vintage bottles, candlesticks and of course the flowers. We met and planned to achieve this coherent look; all suppliers are tagged below.
All the floral ceremony elements were transferred to the reception room. For the tables, the jars of flowers from the aisle were reused. I then added extra flowers in little vintage jars and vases supplied by Oh So Curious.
The long and low arrangement from the registrar table was relocated and sat in front of Megan and Simon. The bridal bouquets were reused in jars and arrangements of flowers were placed down the length of the table. The arch and flowers were moved to sit behind the couple. By moving and reusing items Megan and Simon made the most of their flowers, something I always recommend. They wanted the top table area to be overflowing with flowers. As you can see, that was definitely achieved..
It was such an honour to create the wedding flowers for this beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at the stunning Llechwen hall. Thank you to Megan and Simon for letting me be a part of this stunning day.
This is what Megan messaged me the day after the wedding:
"It was an absolute joy to have you as part of our wedding and you really nailed the assignment! I don’t think I’ve had a single compliment about the wedding that didn’t mention your flowers. Thank you again for everything, they were truly the most amazing flowers that I could have imagined".
In the embrace of nature's beauty, amidst the serenity of the Welsh countryside, Llechwen Hall sets the stage for a wedding celebration that was nothing short of extraordinary. Alongside this captivating setting, the outdoor South Wales wedding flowers helped to create a truly magical experience that Megan and Simon will treasure for a lifetime.
A huge shout out to Timea at Timea Danci Photography for these truly wonderful images. You have captured the atmosphere of the day beautifully.
