My wonderful couple Sharon and James were married at the beautiful St Tewdrics House; a 19th Century luxury Italianate Villa nestled in 10 acres of idyllic Monmouthshire countryside.
These beautiful images by Tom Curno Photography capture just how beautiful this South Wales wedding at St Tewdrics House. is. By selecting a sophisticated palette of blue and peach for their summer wedding flowers, Sharon and James created a breath taking atmosphere that will be remembered by both them and their guests for years to come.
Now feast your eyes on this blog for some serious wedding inspiration!
Charming blue and peach bridal flowers
The natural style of the wedding flowers were perfect for this summer wedding day when the sun actually chose to show up. The cool serenity of blue paired with the soft warmth of peach created a stunning visual contrast, both elegant and refreshing. This combination embodies the balance of tranquillity and joy, making it ideal for a summer wedding setting.
As always, my love of texture and many petaled flowers influenced Sharon’s bouquet. I included some popular choices for weddings - such as ‘avalanche’ roses. ammi visgna, soft peach spray roses, eustoma, the stunning nigella - commonly known as ‘love in the mist’, chameleucium, hydrangea, scabious and delphinium, and olive foliage.
The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.
Blue and peach buttonholes
The groomsmen wore small posies of nigella, chamelaucium and olive foliage. James wore the same but with an extra peach rose, They were mini versions of the bridal flowers. Super cute.
St Tewdrics South Wales Ceremony flowers
The ceremony flowers were designed with the intention to reuse and repurpose in the reception room - something I always recommend my couple do. This is a great way to make your budget go further.
Because the sun was shining Sharon and James married outside.
I adorned the ceremony vow area with cascading urn arrangements of blue and peach flowers - Sharon specifically asked for the foliage to flow down the urns. Here I used a mix of bridal summer flowers and colours, these urns added drama to the ceremony area. These were then repurposed to sit behind the top table to add further floral decoration to that space.
The aisles were decorated with the sweetest jars full of bridal and seasonal flowers. I tied these to the chairs
Simple bud vases of bridal flowers decorated the registry table, the venue then moved these on the top table.
This entire wedding was designed without the use floral foam, whenever possible I will not use floral foam. If you would like to learn why and find out more about this movement, you can read my blog here.
Table settings with blue and peach wedding
The staircase at the entrance to St Tewdrics was decorated with this understated floral display in the bridal colours. This area is often adorned with flowers, sometimes very voluptuous designs. Here Sharon and James wanted to create a focal point but in a laid-back style.
In the reception room guests sat at trestle tables, blue and peach flowers were used in the table settings with small arrangements sat in front of every couple of guests. The aisle flowers and the bridal bouquets were also added to the tables displays. The flowers were complemented with powder blue tapered candles, matching napkin ribbons and place cards.
The top table was decorated with the same bud designs and the large urn ceremony displays were placed behind the bride and groom, making a beautiful backdrop. This is a great way to make the most of your wedding flowers.
Sharon’s parents were keen to add their personal touch to the wedding flowers. They made these wonderful boxes of plants which I made sure matched the other flowers by adding some bridal roses to the displays. They were so gorgeous, I love it when weddings are made more personal.
This was my first time working at St Tewdrics, South Wales, what a beautiful venue with gorgeous grounds. We are really spoilt for choice of stunning wedding venues in South Wales.
This is what Sharon had to say about her blue and peach summer flowers.
Choosing blue and peach summer wedding flowers is a decision that promises beauty, elegance, and versatility. This enchanting colour palette not only captures the essence of summer but also provides a refreshing and harmonious backdrop for your special day. Whether you're dreaming of a grand celebration or an intimate gathering, blue and peach flowers will help create a wedding that is as memorable as it is beautiful.
