Dreamy RWCMD wedding flowers
Kath and Hywel's wedding day was a celebration of love, laughter, and so much joy that I dare you not to smile when looking at these images. Held at the iconic The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the heart of Cardiff, set in the grounds of Cardiff Castle and bordering the wonderful Bute Park.
Their July wedding was a perfect blend of contemporary chic and romantic charm. I really hope you enjoy these dreamy RWCMD wedding flowers.
When I first met Kath, she knew exactly how they wanted their wedding day to look. Kath had a great knowledge of flowers and was a keen gardener; the wedding flowers were an extremely important aspect of her and Hywel’s wedding. We spent wonderful times discussing all their ideas and how best to decorate the venue and make the most of the many features at RWCMD She was an absolute pleasure to work with and was very open to my ideas.
RWCMD South Wales wedding ceremony
Kath and Hywel really encapsulated the ethos of ‘your wedding, your way.’ They got ready together at home in the morning, travelled together to the venue and had a small intimate wedding ceremony with their nearest and dearest at the Anthony Hopkins centre in the grounds. Before moving to the large atrium where over one hundred guests joined them to party.
The space here was decorated with floral columns full of pastel-coloured blooms which were easily transported to sit either side of the top table in the reception room.

Kath carried a romantic, heavily scented bouquet full of flowers with no foliage. Each of the flowers in the table centrepieces merged to create a beautiful, natural bouquet. The shape of the bouquet really complimented the ‘cuteness’ of her dress and the modern styling of her hair and makeup.

After the ceremony the guests then moved to the atrium to continue the celebrations. As you can see this venue was perfect for the many guests.
A footed bowl sat on each table full of one gorgeous flower, instead of numbers each table was named after the flowers. Leucanthemum Daisy, Sweet Pea, Allium, Astrantia, Roses, Iris, Chrysanthemum, Eustoma, Tulip, Dahlia, Dianthus, Phlox, Alstroemeria.
It was an original and effective way to decorate the space.
This is what Kath had to say about her wedding day:
RWCMD dreamy wedding flowers for the top table
Both Kath and Hywel are pharmacists and wanted a nod to this with the use of these brown medicine bottles which they supplied, white hydrangea being Kath’s favourite flower sat across the length of the table (these bottles also supplied snacks for each guests when filled with jelly beans)
Behind the top table I created a stunning flower curtain full of colour and the many flower varieties. This unusual display framed the top table perfectly, it was a wonderful way to decorate the vast window space.
We made a feature of the grand piano with a charming cascade of flowers. This was a perfect photo opportunity for the guests and highlighted a beautiful piece of furniture that you don’t find in many wedding venues!
As a finishing touch, the pillars from the ceremony room were relocated at either side of the top table.
So, there you go. A truly stunning day full of the most gorgeous wedding flowers. A huge thanks to Kath and Hywel for sharing their wedding photos and credit to Sacha Miller Photography for all the beautiful images.
